Different cultures' look on weight problems

Ha!? Of course, the bath-scales must be lying, - I was thinking to myself when after I went back from USA the first thing I decided to do was to check my weight. To put on weight more than 25 pounds for less than 5 months was absolutely impossible for me. At the same time I was fed us with the only one exclamation of every one who saw me Boo, you've become fatter! instead of Welcome! How on earth could it happen when it was considered that all the time I was working as hard as a cart-horse? Besides nobody ever in the States mentioned or even hinted that I was getting fatter, neither American colleagues nor Russian students I was living with. No doubt, I gained some and it had bothered nobody until I came back home. Was the real reason in so-called fast food ? I remembered my first sandwich. That was Chicken McGrill. I ordered it with Coca. I was eating and I caught myself at the thought that it was the most del ... [read more]

my weight loss story

That happened in the other life of mine. I was a lonely and ageing woman. I was dating the man through an on-line chat and as all women would do, I said to him I was a 25 year-old trim red haired girl. The only truth there was about red hair.

The day came when he told me he cared about me and was eager to meet. I was amazed and actually frightened. My was 144 1b and he thought I was 95 1b well put together Lady. He fell in love with me but I got, the moment he is to see me, he’ll fell out of it immediately. That was going to be a disaster!

I had only a month to work wonders and to become a beauty to him.

Here I was at the beginning: snickers, no skirt and shortness of breath. I bought $300 high-heeled shoes and every day went to the job on foot. My feet were aching and I was waddling from one side of sidewalk to another, but I made myself smile. I hated shopping because everythi ... [read more]

I have a piece of advice for those who

I have a piece of advice for those who wants to lose
I have a huge piece of advice for everyone here. I have struggled along the way and I have had my ups and downs. I just stayed positive no matter what and lived in the moment. I didn’t wait until I was thin to do the things I love to do. Like hanging out with friends or wearing a cute outfit, I just bought the bigger size, even though it was depressing.

After some failures I came to understand that you couldn’t at once. You need o take it off day-by-day, pound by pound. You need to focus on the moment and tell yourself you’re beautiful now. You can’t plan to lose 12 pounds by summer. If you think that way, most likely you’ll fail on your ... [read more]

Is it difficult to grow thinner?

Life seemed perfect when I was 16. Everything was just right, me including. Once I’ve noticed that other girls were a success with our classmates one of whom I really liked since 1-st signs of sexuality were awaking in all of us. The boys were attracted to me too but more in a friend-like way! Only then I came to realize I wasn’t that perfect. So I arranged myself a critical session with the mirror and I saw clearly: there was something in me that needed a significant change. Appearance? – Somebody would ask, - Wrong answer! The first step was to change my mentality.

I did, and in accordance with my new critical self I came to hate myself. You know, it’s very motivating, but the point is not to let yourself lapse into depression which doesn’t help. You need to get mad at yourself to the extent that you want to move. So, I cut down my daily ration, especially on junk food, soda and sweets, and enlarged the portion of physical activity, doing aerobi ... [read more]

Weight loss story!

The story that I want to tell you may seem rather fantastic but it really happened to me. When I remember it I can’t believe that it took place in my life…

A year ago I had a chance to be at the presentation of new album of a very fashionable group The Black Eyed Peas. To tell the truth, that was my favourite group and I was in the seventh heaven to have such opportunity! I began to prepare for this long-awaited party beforehand: in two month’s time. In one fashion magazine I saw the dress of my dream, which I ordered at the dressmaker’s, and moreover, I left my measurements on a size that was smaller than mine, as my friend advised me a good remedy to ! He assured result in a week! I trusted my friend a lot, that’s why I agreed to embark on shady enterprises. The next day I met with my friend and took away this saving preparation. On my way back home I decided to have a ... [read more]

Don't mind your weight

Man is fool
When it’s hot
He wants it cool
When it’s cool
He wants it hot
He always wants what he has not

“Lose your weight and you’ll be great!” “100% weight loss!” “There is no need to make a mystery of the fact that millions of women are not satisfied with there …”
Stop! No more of this! Fed up! How much longer are we going to let these doubtful lines be our life-guides? How much longer are we going to spend money and time in vain? Every second girl at some period of her life was sure her life would be amazing if she managed to lose one, two or better three undesirable kilos! She could swear that there would be no getting rid of boyfriends and tempting offers from world known fashion designers if only she had a slender waist and skinny legs. No doubt you know at least one of these girls. ... [read more]
